The other day, Megan and I were discussing school – GCSE and A Level choices, and then even the college and university options. When I was at school, I felt very much that my mum and dad decided which subjects I should take and even whether or not I would go on to 6th Form and University. I don’t want to be like that with my girls, I want them to feel like they have all the choices. Further education isn’t always the right choice for everyone and as someone who loves to travel, I often wish I had taken a year out. If either of the girls want to do that, I know I will worry but I will definitely do my best to help them do that.
The Global Work & Travel Co. Blog published a post about The Top 8 Gap Year Travellers so I thought I would share it with you. While taking a year out can be a break from eduction, a bit of fun and a new experience, it can also be a step towards a future career and work experience.
