My Last Nerd Block (July)

July 26, 2014 by Bel 1 Comment

Just like all my other subscription boxes (Birchbox, Glossybox etc.) I gave Nerd Block a 3 months trial. You can see my other posts using the Nerd Block tag. While I’ve enjoyed the surprise of seeing what’s in each box, I have to admit that they are just not geared enough to my specific geekism, to keep getting them.

This was the contents of my July Nerd Block.

As much as I love a great Nerf gun, its definitely more of a boys toy, or even a kids toy. The fact it was a Zombie Nerf, immediately meant that I would be giving it to Chris!

Having just been to a Comic Con (LFCC) and San Diego Comic Con flooding my Facebook feed, I have to admit the next item interested me a little. I loved the fact I got a Stan Lee figure with my DVD, though I have no idea who the ginger guy is. Other available figures included Joss Whedon though and I was disappointed not to get him! While I’m yet to watch the DVD, I definitely will. However I doubt its something I’ll rewatch after.

Readers of my blog will probably know that I am not a Star Wars fan. I’m not anti it either, but it just does nothing for me. Therefore two Star Wars items were a bit lost on me again. I highly doubt the magazine will get read at all but I gave Chris the plush, as he has the Darth Vader from before and they’ll sit together in our pile of plush toys in our bedroom!

Finally though, the t-shirt I love. TMNT are such a retro thing, plus a huge part of my childhood. Chris has a game on his Xbox, which is an exact replica of a game my brother and I used to play when we were younger. The cartoon was epic too and I always remember Michelangelo being my favourite because he was sort of dumb but actually incredibly funny. I’m all about the pizza too, so I’m happy to wear this!

All in all its been great fun subscribing to Nerd Block but I have officially cancelled my subscription now (a little sadly as apparently Funko figures are coming back to the box next month!). I’ve moved on to Loot Crate now though, so I’ll be posting about that shortly – it arrived this morning!
