It’s Mother’s Day and 13/52

March 30, 2014 by Bel Leave a Comment

Gosh its Mother’s Day and I feel like I should do my mum justice by posting about how wonderful she is, or giving a nod to my children for how amazing they are. However, I’ve had such a lovely day and the true sign of that is that I’m exhausted and really have no energy to post at all.

Tomorrow is my round-up day so hopefully I’ll find some effort to write a super detailed re-cap of the week, but for now I’m going to leave you with a picture of my beautiful girls for my 52 Project.

Please also remember that my Oliver Jeffers’ book giveaway is still running and its really easy to enter!

My beautiful Canvas Print from Canvas Design*

March 5, 2014 by Bel 35 Comments

Recently I was offered the opportunity to review a Canvas Print, from the lovely people at Canvas Design. I jumped at the chance, needing only to send them the picture of my choice and in a matter of days, the Canvas Print was at my door! However, even if I’d gone through their site, the process is so easy! Upload your photo, customise your photo and then place your order!

I’ll be honest now… the hardest part of the whole process for me, was designing what picture I wanted on printed canvas! How do you choose? After much umming and ahhing, I chose a photo from our trip to Disneyland Paris last year, where we drove through Paris and took pictures of the Eiffel Tower.

It’s not by any means the perfect picture, but it is at least a personal photo and it holds many wonderful memories of our trip. Paris also holds a very special place in my heart, so any excuse to have a print of the Eiffel Tower on my house walls.

Less than a week after sending my photo over via email, I had a text telling me my Canvas Print had been dispatched and it would be delivered the next day. I was surprised to get a courier notification by text, but pleasantly so! The courier even specified an hour time frame, within which the canvas would be delivered – so no waiting in all day!

When the canvas arrived, it was extremely well packaged. A layer of corrugated cardboard, around a layer of bubblewrap. It wasn’t so well wrapped up that you couldn’t get in though and I didn’t need to use scissors and risk ruining the print.

The end result is this, the above pictured, finished canvas. I’m so pleased with it, I can’t even tell you! The detail is great and so is the quality. Though my photographs don’t really do it justice, you can see below some close up shots.

So… not only am I loving my new canvas print, Canvas Design have also given me the opportunity, to allow one lucky reader of my blog to win their own Canvas! All you have to do is fill in the Rafflecopter form below and then hope for the best! However, if you can’t wait till then… you can use the code BLOG15 at Canvas Design’s site, and this will grant you 15% off their prices. Not only that, but postage is free – so grab a bargain!

Mr Nutcase iPad Case*

February 18, 2014 by Bel 1 Comment

I was recently lucky enough to get the chance to review a “Mr Nutcase iPhone or iPad case”.

Mr Nutcase is a website specifically for designing your own Phone or Tablet case. Its easy to use, nice on the eyes and relatively inexpensive for the service it offers!

As you can see from their website, they offer hundred of designs (or of course you can create your own) for any device!

First things first, you select your device. You do this from a list of drop down menus, picking first the manufacturer, then the device, followed by the type of case you’d like. After that come some layout options.

I personally went for the heart design, made up of multiple pictures. As it was close to Valentine’s I chose to make an iPad cover and give it to Chris (since I’d gone halves with him on an iPad 2 for his birthday in March). Again its really simple to customise your design, with options to upload images, add text, add clipart and change the background colour.

The case that I went for was only available in white, but that didn’t matter as I presumed the pictures would show up better on white anyway. It took me some time to upload each individual picture I wanted (though some of that was searching through all the pictures on my harddrive) but once they were uploaded, I could move them around and change the places as much as I wanted without having to re-upload each time.

This was my finished design, right before checking out. It was a combination of pictures from family holidays over the last year and pictures of us as a family, plus Chris and I as a couple. I was very pleased with the end result.

Check out was fast and easy too, barely needing any information in order to proceed and process the order. Even better, the iPad case was notified as dispatched within a day and arrived within only a few more.

The case itself is really good quality, though I have to admit the white is certainly a brilliant (bright) white. It came well packaged and with a compliments slip as well.

I have to admit that I was really pleased with the final product and the service I received. I would highly recommend Mr Nutcase for a personalised case for your device.

Begging just a little…

April 28, 2013 by Bel 1 Comment

I’ve been so busy recently that I haven’t had time to blog and even today I’ve been run off my feet with organising a baby shower for one of my best friends.

Its now pretty late and I’m just about to head to bed but I’m really posting here to ask one small favour.

Some of you may remember reading about our family trip to Disneyland Paris in February. It was the first family holiday I have been able to take my children on since splitting up with their father, almost three years ago. We had an amazing holiday and the highlight for the kids was definitely managing to meet a real life princess, Snow White.

Since then, the company we traveled with, ran a competition. It was a photo contest where you uploaded a picture and got everyone to vote for it.

My entry is here:
http://woobox.com/t9kgh5/vote/for/266790

Please take just one minute to click on the VOTE button (not the like option) and vote for my picture. We are currently in second place and the competition ends today, GMT (which gives it approximately 2 hours left from the time I’m posting this).

I know this is really a cheeky ask, but if all 44 of my followers voted, we would definitely have it in the bag. I know my girls would absolutely love the opportunity to spend £50 in the Disney Store, especially as they had such a great time in Disneyland and keep mentioning about going back soon (which isn’t going to happen, lol!)

Thank you for your time, I really appreciate you even reading this far.

Promise to update soon!
